Puntland First outlines collective efforts to build lasting institutions for community organizing, media, policy research and charitable service.

Puntland First
Puntland First Movement has outlined its work to build institutions spanning community organizing, media, policy research and charitable service, describing the efforts as a collective investment in Puntland’s long-term future.
The movement identified four institutions: Puntland First, Puntland Signal, the Puntland Strategic & Policy Institute (PSPI), and Puntland Global Fund. It credited their development to the contributions of its leadership, members, volunteers and supporters.
Through Puntland First, the movement has worked to connect Puntlanders at home and abroad around civic participation and community service. Its digital platform, PuntlandFirst.com (https://www.puntlandfirst.com), supports membership registration, contributions and access to the movement’s vision and principles.
Its media platform, Puntland Signal (https://puntlandsignalmedia.com), publishes news and analysis in Somali and English, alongside interviews and public discussions. Coverage includes politics, security, economics and regional developments affecting Puntland. Programs such as Indhaha Caalamka examine international reporting and research concerning Puntland and the wider region.
The Puntland Strategic & Policy Institute (https://www.puntlandspi.org) focuses on research and policy recommendations concerning Puntland’s long-term interests, security, foreign relations, institutional development and social cohesion.
Its publications include the Strategic Middle Path, which advances autonomy, stability and non-domination as guiding principles for Puntland’s statecraft. The institute has also examined environmental pressures and competition over resources, including their implications for community cohesion.
Puntland Global Fund (https://puntlandglobalfund.org) serves as the movement’s charitable arm. According to Puntland First, the fund contributed to drought relief efforts that delivered 150 tanker loads of water to affected communities. It also provided Eid support to 930 children whose parents were martyred defending Puntland during the Calmiskaat campaign.
The movement said its broader ambition is to build lasting institutions that serve the public and provide future generations with knowledge, organizational capacity and a foundation for further development.
